Greed

"The deer is a symbol of purity, peace, and bounty. It is a great sign and gift. In the creation story of my ancestors, it was a Deer that had carried us onto Earth from the Spirit World. The Deer is sacred.
Our way of life was being harmonious with the Earth.
 
Colonization disrupted that. Greed disrupted that. It took what was pure and violated it. This is Corruption, Famine, Insatiable Hunger, Disease, War, Decay and Malevolence. 
 
This is the grief of myself, my ancestors, and of the countless bands of people fighting to be heard, to reconnect, and to flourish. We are not extinct. We are right here, dripping in red and despair."
